How it works
Step 1
Tell us about your vehicle
Use our secure form or call 855‑500‑RIDE. We accept most vehicles, running or not.
Step 2
Schedule your free pickup
CARS arranges a convenient pickup time. Vehicles must be towable, in one piece, with an engine, and accessible to a tow truck.
Step 3
We handle the sale & paperwork
Your vehicle is sold through a network of auction partners to maximize value. You and BASIC receive the required tax documents.
Step 4
Your gift powers BASIC
70% of net sale proceeds support scholarships & educational programs in Borrego Springs.

What you’ll need
Before pickup
- Vehicle located in a safe, tow‑truck accessible area
- Keys (if available) & any details about condition
- Title (state rules vary; CARS will guide you)
After donation
- Don’t cancel insurance until you’ve reported transfer per your state’s DMV guidance
- Watch for your tax receipt and 1098‑C (if applicable)
- BASIC receives proceeds to fuel scholarships
